ShapeMonitor:

ShapeMonitor can be configured as a turnkey 3D measurement system that allows for measuring objects in real time. The system comprises a high speed computer, frame grabber, and dual digital cameras for data acquisition The system can utilize target projection, retro targeting or ShapeQuest adaptive targeting.  The system allows for easy configuration for different camera types such as high speed cameras.

You can uses most digital machine vision cameras such as camera link, GigE, or USB

ShapeMonitor software is used with higher frame rate cameras and is used for accurate 3d target measurement of dynamic scenes where there are hundreds or thousands of frames that need to be read automatically. The system allows for easy configuration for different camera types such as high speed cameras.

ShapeMonitor allows for measurement of objects whether they are static or dynamic. For dynamic scenes it allows for hundreds or thousands of frames to be read automatically. The system can also be used in harsh environments and poor platform stability where laser systems fail.
The System software is broken down into modules where only one is hardware dependent. The ShapeMonitor program is hardware independent and allows for camera calibration and system registration. The main features is similar to the ShapeCapture program and further information on some of the features is available on this site. ShapeMonitor allows for measuring thousand of points in a real time environment to a high accuracy. With its optional motorized projection system (point clouds at 50 micron to 1 mm increments) hundreds of thousands of 3D points can be measured at near real time rates.

ShapeMonitor also allows for reading a target template to provide for automated calibration and registration, prior to automated point measurement. Multiple parts or objects can be read in near real time (i.e. assembly line system). Since the cameras are fired simultaneously, objects that are in a dynamic state can be accurately measured. In addition to its capability, the 3D coordinate output from ShapeMonitor can be directly applied to other 3D modeling software.

ShapeQuest has developed a new targeting system for long range monitoring and automatic measurement of dynamic structures that interfaces to the ShapeMonitor system. Now any size of structure can be measured dynamically at close or long range.
